While Daddy is gone...

we have played and played.  Trying to make the time go by fast.  We miss him so much, but we know he is enjoying his new job.  Today he was working in Santa Clara.  He took the Air Shuttle from Folsom to Santa Clara.  He was in meetings most of the day and then flew back to Folsom. We are happy he has this new job and new opportunities.

Only 9 more days!!!!

Alex's Fifth Birthday

Alex turned 5 today!  He is such a wonderful little boy.  Daddy came home for lunch and we had cupcakes and cake.  Alex loved all of his presents and he and Sarah played with them all day.   As part of his birthday, we are going tomorrow to see Cars 2.  We are all excited about that.  It was a fun day and we are lucky to have him in our family.

Our home for the next 7 months...

We are going to be in an apartment for 7 months or until we find a house to buy.  We wanted to be able to get our kids into the neighborhood school that we liked and not have to worry about them not getting in at the last minute.  Here are some pictures of our apartment complex:

When we told the kids that we were going to be living in an apartment they were super excited.  We were thinking they would be disappointed we didn't find a house right away, but it was funny to see their reaction.  Maybe they are looking forward to the pool.

House Hunting

Grandma Venna flew in on Monday from Utah and Daddy and Mommy flew out on Wednesday to California.  We were exhausted by the time we got there.  We Drove around with our realtor and looked at lots of homes, but mostly looked at neighborhoods so we could figure out where we wanted to buy.

It wasn't all business.  One night we went to Historic Sutters Street in Folsom and enjoyed a nice dinner at a German Restaurant.  Mommy loved the accordion player and was very excited to finally live somewhere that had an authentic German Restaurant in town.  We also went for some nice walks and runs along the American River that flows through Folsom.

We only had one mishap on our trip when Mommy slipped off a curb on a handicapped ramp and fell in front of the Real Estate office.  She hurt her ankle really bad and couldn't walk on it.  Someone in the office called 911 and the next thing we knew Mommy was riding in an ambulance to the hospital and Daddy was driving behind it thinking about how much this was going to cost them.  So, the hospital did an x-ray and then the doctor said it was not broken put it in a wrap and brace and sent them on their way.  Mommy vowed never to fall of the curb again especially in a public place with lots of people around, because they over react.  Oh, well.  It is still pretty sore and swollen, but mom was able to still see some more houses and get around.

Overall our trip was wonderful we missed our kids a lot and were glad to be home and see them.  They were happy we were home also and we gave each of them a little present from our trip.
