Christmas Day

Christmas morning was  a lot of fun we got lots of nice presents from each other and enjoyed playing with our new toys all day.

Alex got a bow and arrow that Sarah had her eye on.  She played with it most of the day.  :)

Daddy testing out his new running gear.
It was a perfect day.  Relaxing and fun being together.

Christmas Eve

We had a beautiful Christmas Eve.  We woke up to sun shinning in the windows.  It has been raining for a couple days, so we loved having warm weather.  I snapped this picture of Sarah and Alex laying in the sunshine on Sarah's bed.
The garden was looking beautiful and green.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care!

On Christmas Eve night we acted out the Christmas story from Luke.  No one wanted to play the part of Mary or Joseph.  Sarah and Alex wanted to be shepherds and Lily wanted to be the Angel.  So Daddy and Mommy got to be Mary and Joseph.

We also read our Presents for Jesus box. The Presents for Jesus box is a box that we write about all of the nice things others have done for us this Christmas Season. We write them on slips of paper and fill up the box before Christmas. The box was full this year and had nice notes in it.
The kids put cookies and milk out for Santa Claus. He must have liked them because they were all gone in the morning!

Merry Christmas!

Sarah's Reindeer Trail 5k

A couple months ago Daddy signed up with some co-workers for a race that Intel would pay for called the Reindeer Trail Run.  A few weeks later Daddy found out he had some tendinosis that wouldn't heal.  The doctor gave him a boot to wear for 3 weeks, so he couldn't run the race.  He asked Sarah if she would like to run it.   She was really excited about it, so Daddy took her and she ran the 5k all by herself.  She had a lot of fun and did really good.  Here are some pictures from the race.  After seeing the beautiful pictures Mommy really wants to run it with her next year.

As you can see by the grass...Winter in California is really like Spring.  Everything is beautiful and green.

Sorry about Daddy's finger.  He is still figuring out his phone camera. :)
Sarah got a stuffed reindeer at the finish line.  Good job Queenie!

Cutting our Tree

There are lots of tree farms just up the freeway from us.  So we decided to cut down our own real tree this year as well as put up our fake one.  Mommy found a the cheapest tree farm she could and we headed out on Saturday for our adventure.

When we got to the farm it was a cute little cabin in the woods.  They gave Daddy a saw, told us to leave 6 branches on the bottom (so it can grow a new tree),  and sent us off in the woods to find our tree.

We hiked a round for a while looking at all of the different trees.
The kids had lots of fun hiking through the trees.
The sun came out as we were looking for our perfect tree.

We climbed to the top of the hill behind the cabin.  We weren't sure if we were still in the tree farm, but no one was around.
Then we found it.  Our cute Christmas tree.  We took turns sawing until it came crashing down.

Mommy and Daddy carried it back to the cabin to pay for it.  Mommy was nervous that we had actually cut down a tree not on the farm, because it was really nice.  She told Daddy to go quickly down the hill.
When we brought it back to the cabin they told us it was a Sugar Pine and seemed kind of excited.  Maybe those are rare?  or just on other peoples property.  :)

We tied it too the roof and drove home.

That night Uncle Mark and Aunt EJ came up to stay overnight, so Mommy and Daddy could go to Dad's fancy work party.  The kids were so excited to have them come.  They didn't mind at all that Mom and Dad were leaving.

On Sunday we celebrated Advent with Uncle Mark and Aunt EJ.  We ate lots of yummy food.

Uncle Mark and Aunt EJ.  Uncle Mark loves Sprite Zero.  Can you tell?

 That's one big tree!

Mommy's Weekend in Salt Lake City

Mommy's sister Danya went to the Salt Lake Temple for the first time this last week so Mommy got to take a quick trip to Utah.   Daddy used a couple of vacation days and took great care of the kids.  Mommy didn't worry at all.  Thanks Daddy!  Here are lots of pictures from the trip:

Oma and Danya took made a yummy birthday cake!
 My cute nephews!
 Hobson and Bode
 Miles all smiles.
We went for a day up to This is the Place State Park for the ChristkindlMarkt.  There were lots of little shops and fun things to look at.  Almost a substitute for the real thing (someday!).
 Lets go!
Oma and Hobson.  I sure love my family.

 The crew.

They had reindeer for the kids to look at.

Hobson with his recorder.  He was so cute and happy.

 Oma, Keri, and Mommy
Mommy went for dinner to Scerinda and Ken's house.  It was fun to talk and play with the kids.  It went by too fast and then it was time to go home.

One morning Mommy woke up early and went for a walk with her camera to take pictures.

We went for walks everyday.  Oma and Grandpa Bill are fast walkers.  Mom loved talking and walking with them.
On Saturday Danya went to the Salt Lake Temple.  It was a wonderful experience.  We were all able to do family names for Oma's family.

 Opa, Oma, and Danya

When we came out of the temple there was a light snow and all of the Christmas Lights were on.  It was gorgeous.  Mommy was in heaven.  After dinner Oma and Grandpa treated us to a very fancy restaurant.

On Sunday we celebrated Advent.  Mommy only took one picture of the advent wreath.  It was a fun weekend.  Mommy missed her kids lots, but enjoyed some time with her family.
