Nimbus Fish Hatchery

We often pick Tauna up from her Saturday runs at the parking lot for the Nimbus Fish Hatchery because it is free and it is right off the American River Bike Trail. We noticed a bunch of people walking around inside the gate this last time, so we decided to talk in and see what it was all about. The hatchery is to replace miles of lost spawning ground along the American River when they put the dams in for Folsom Lake and Lake Natoma.
We saw long pools of steelhead trout.
Lily, Alex, and Sarah looking at the swarms of fish.
We could barely see the bottom of some of the pools. These are rainbow trout Lily is watching.
More fish.
And more fish.
And even more fish.

Trip to Utah

For the 24th of July we took at trip to Utah to be with family.  We drove with Uncle Mark and EJ from Sacramento to Salt Lake City.  Having Mark and EJ to talk to made the time go by very fast.  The kids were great on both drives.  It was nice to only have to drive 10 hours to Utah instead of 21 hours!
We had a great trip with lots of fun activities with both families. The first two days we spent with the Sandersons and went downtown to eat at City Creek then over to the Church History Museum.  Next, we went to the Leonardo Museum.  The kids loved being with their cousins.  It was fun to watch them all interact and become instant friends.

On the second day with the Sandersons, we drove up to Brighton for a picnic and walk around the lake.  Daddy, Aunt Scerinda, Sarah, Tommy, Alex and Sam went on a longer hike up to another lake.  Mommy, Lily, and Catherine explored Brighton, walked around some more and then watched a Barbie movie in the car when it started to rain.  Mom liked listening to Catherine and Lily and their cute conversations.

The last few days we spent with the Bodells.  The kids discovered a paper airplane book and had fun making paper airplanes and flying them with their cousins.

On Monday, we rode the tram up to the top of Snowbird Ski resort.  The wildflowers were the most beautiful we have ever seen.  We walked through the tunnel at the top then took the chair lift down.   Afterwards, we stopped for pizza at a place Aunt Keri picked out.  She claimed they had the best crust ever!  We agree.  It was so good.  We ate it all.  YUM.

On the 24th of July Daddy ran the Deseret News Marathon.  The race course came down the same way the pioneers entered the Salt Lake Valley.  After the marathon we spent some time in our hotel watching the floats and taking naps.
That night we went to Aunt Keri and Uncle Clark's house for a BBQ and fireworks.  It was so fun and we all loved the fireworks.

Thanks everyone for such a nice trip and spending time with us!

Aunt Danya's and Grandpa's Pictures of Yosemite

Aunt Danya and Grandpa Bill both took more beautiful pictures on our trip.  On our last day in Yosemite Aunt Danya, Daddy, and Sarah took a hike to an overlook.  They got some really pretty pictures.    What a fun trip!
